Consultation
Prior to all Vasectomy treatment, each patient will have a pre-surgery counselling call. Mr Roland will give a full explanation of the vasectomy procedure, risk and benefit. Medical History and assesment to ensure that you are fit and suitable for the operation. This is also an oppertunity to ask your surgeon any questions and discuss concerns ahead of time.
This will be scheduled a minimum of 7 days ahead of your procedure. If this is not possible please contact our team to ensure we can help.

The required pre-treatment counselling is paid at the time of booking and a £200 deposit will be held against your surgery appointment.

How long does a vasectomy take?
The Vasectomy procedure typically takes 15-20 minutes. You will also need time for pre-operative checks and post-operative advice before leaving our clinic.
Is a vasectomy performed under local anesthetic?
Yes. All vasectomy procedures are performed as minor surgery under local anaesthetic, whichnumbs the treatment area while you are awake.
What do I need on the day?
You will need to arrive at the clinic 15 minutes before the operation. Pre Operative checks will be carried out, the procedure itself takes around 20 minutes. After the procedure we will bring a cup of tea and something sweet as driving immediately after treatment is not reccomended.

What are the side effects/risks?
There may be a small amount of bruising and localised discomfort which usually settles and simple pain relief, rest and supportive underwear.
Post operative risks will all be discussed with your clinician, if anything changes please contact the clinic directly.
Returning to work, exercise or have sex?
For desk jobs, we recommend 2-3 days, and for manual jobs 1-2 weeks. As for exercise we advise a rest period of 48-72 hours. Sex can resume as soon as you feel comfortable, but we advise waiting a minimum of 48 hours.
How do I know the vasectomy has worked?
The surgeon will recommend at post operative semen sample at 6 months and that will determine that the procedure has worked.
